WHY JOIN?
"The Society seeks to nurture, prepare and support future consorts"
City Consorts is exactly that: a Society formed for all consorts, male or female, whether Mayoral, Shrieval, Aldermanic or Livery; whether you are just beginning as the consort to a Junior Warden or, indeed, you finished many years ago.
The main objective of City Consorts is to give the partner of any future Livery Master of the City of London the confidence and knowledge to embrace and enjoy their year as consort, through:
Events will take place, usually within the Square Mile, with past consorts available to share advice on far ranging matters from protocol at dinners to how to balance work commitments or juggle multiple diaries.
In addition, there will be a fellowship element with light refreshments, lunches, perhaps a dinner, with informative tours, trips and visits. The aim is to make these occasions fun, with an opportunity to get to know one another a bit better.
It is hoped that, through City Consorts, future consorts will be better prepared, feel more confident and start their year with newly formed friendships, making the year in office by their Master’s side much more enjoyable and rewarding.
For clarity, where the term 'Master' is used, it also includes Prime Wardens and Upper Bailiff.
